This Privacy Policy explains how ChotMakesGames ("we", "us"), based in Lusaka, Zambia, handles information in connection with the mobile game Outpost: Stardust (the "Game"). By installing or using the Game you agree to this policy.
We do not operate any servers, we do not have user accounts, and we never receive your game data. Your saved progress stays on your own device. The only information that leaves your device is handled by two Google services we embed: Google AdMob, to show advertisements, and Google Play Billing, to process the one optional in-app purchase.
The Game writes two files to its private storage area on your device. These files are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we have no ability to read them:
| File | Contents |
|---|---|
save.json |
Your current run: buildings placed, wave progress, currency, and retries used. |
profile.json |
Progress that outlives a run: diamonds, per-arena high scores, unlocked arenas and characters, tutorial history, your premium status flag, and your difficulty preference. |
Uninstalling the Game deletes both files. Because we hold no copy, uninstalling means your progress is permanently lost and cannot be restored by us.
The Game displays interstitial and rewarded advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
This data is used to deliver and measure advertising, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to detect invalid traffic. It is processed by Google as an independent controller under Google's Privacy Policy. You can review how Google uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Players who purchase the Premium Unlock see no advertisements. For those players the advertising SDK is never initialised, and no advertising identifier is requested from the device at all.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a US state with an applicable privacy law, the Game presents a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform before any personalised advertising is requested. You may accept or decline personalised ads. Declining does not restrict any part of the Game — you will simply see non-personalised advertisements instead.
You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy Options entry in the Game's settings, where that entry is required in your region.
Independently of the Game, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
The Game offers a single optional non-consumable purchase, the Premium Unlock, which removes advertisements and unlocks additional content.
All payment processing is carried out entirely by Google Play. We never see, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Google account information. The Game asks Google Play only whether this device's account currently owns the Premium Unlock, and records the answer as a single true/false value on your device. Payment data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.
The Game does not integrate any analytics or crash-reporting service. We collect no telemetry, gameplay statistics, or usage metrics of any kind.
Google Play itself provides us with aggregate, anonymous statistics about installs, ratings and crashes. These are compiled by Google, contain no information identifying any individual, and are not something the Game transmits.
The Game is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Game, please contact us and we will act on the report.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not hold any. The data described in sections 3 and 5 is held by Google in accordance with Google's own retention practices and privacy policy, not ours.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests concerning advertising or purchase data must be directed to Google, which is the controller of that data. You can exercise the choices available to you through the consent options described in section 4, through your Google account privacy controls, and by uninstalling the Game, which removes all locally stored data. If you contact us we will help you direct a request to the right place.
Local save files are stored in the Game's private application directory, which the Android operating system isolates from other applications. They are stored in plain text and are not encrypted, since they contain no personal or sensitive information — only game progress.
We may update this policy as the Game changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes affecting how data is handled will be announced in the Game's Google Play listing.
